Additional learning support
At Berkeley Vale Campus, every student is supported to learn, grow and achieve their personal best. We provide inclusive education for students with disability and additional learning needs, ensuring they can take part in every aspect of school life.
Support is available at any stage of schooling — no formal diagnosis is required to begin. Our goal is to make sure every student feels confident, capable and connected.
Support That Fits Your Child’s Needs
We understand that some students need extra help to feel ready to learn. Our Learning and Support Team (LST) works closely with teachers, families and students to create tailored plans and adjustments that meet individual learning needs.
Support may include:
- Collaboration between teachers, support staff, families and students.
- Small group or one-on-one learning in literacy and numeracy.
- Adjustments in classwork or assessment (such as extra time, simpler language, or alternate tasks).
- Use of assistive technology and modified classroom resources.
- Targeted social skills and wellbeing programs.
- Specialist support for students learning English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D).
- Personalised learning plans for students with disability, including access to the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) process.
Our approach follows a continuum of care:
- Universal support – quality teaching and inclusive classrooms for all students.
- Targeted support – small group or short-term help for students needing extra assistance.
- Individual support – personalised plans and specialist services for students with complex needs.
