Wellbeing
At Berkeley Vale Campus, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Our wellbeing approach is guided by the principles of Connect | Succeed | Thrive, ensuring every student feels known, valued and cared for.
We focus on helping each student realise their potential, cope with life’s challenges, and flourish at school and beyond. Whether your child needs support for their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, our dedicated staff are here to help them thrive.
How We Support Student Wellbeing
Supporting every student’s wellbeing is part of everyday life at Berkeley Vale Campus. Our programs and people are here to make sure students feel confident, connected and supported to achieve their personal best.
We do this through:
- Caring teachers who build positive relationships and help every student feel welcome and included.
- A dedicated wellbeing team including Year Advisers, a Head Teacher Wellbeing, school counsellors, psychologists, and specialist staff.
- The Wellbeing Learning Curriculum, which explicitly teaches social and emotional skills such as resilience, empathy, and self-regulation.
- Programs and wellbeing days focused on health, safety, positive relationships and personal growth, such as R U OK? Day, White Ribbon Day, and Safe on Socials.
- Support for transitions, including programs that help Year 6 students settle into high school and Year 10 students prepare for their senior studies.
- Clear expectations and respectful relationships, underpinned by our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework and school values of Respect, Responsibility and Achievement.
- Partnerships with families and the community, keeping communication open and ensuring shared support for every child’s wellbeing.
Our Wellbeing Framework
The BVC Wellbeing Framework is built around helping students:
- Connect – Feel a strong sense of belonging to their school and community.
- Succeed – Be respected, valued and encouraged to achieve their goals.
- Thrive – Grow, flourish and make a positive impact on the world.
This framework is supported through a structured wellbeing curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities such as camps, leadership programs, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and the House system – all designed to build resilience, confidence, and teamwork.
For Parents and Families
We believe that wellbeing is strongest when schools and families work together. We offer parent information sessions, wellbeing updates, and open communication channels so parents can stay informed and supported.
You can always contact our wellbeing team by phone or email to discuss your child’s needs — we’re here to listen, collaborate and help every student connect, succeed and thrive at Berkeley Vale Campus.
