Moving into Year 7

Expression of Interest Year 6 to 7 Transition Booklet

In NSW Government schools, applying to move from primary school to high school is a 2-step process:

Step 1 (March)

The first step is to complete a Moving to high school expression of interest. When completing this form, you will be able to indicate which school(s) you would like your child to attend in Year 7.

All eligible students are entitled to enrol at their local high school.

Step 2 (April-August)

The second step is to submit an enrolment application, which will be issued to you by the high school after they have assessed your expression of interest.

If for any reason you are unable to access an online application please contact our office.

Transition activities

As students prepare to embark on their secondary school journey, we strive to ensure a seamless and supportive transition.

Our dedicated staff are committed to guiding students through this exciting period of growth and change by providing transition events which allow students to become familiar with the subjects, activities and staff here at Berkeley Vale Campus.

From Science experiments, traditional Aboriginal games, playing in the farm, cooking in the kitchens to completing artworks or making things with your hands, Berkeley Vale Campus has a transition event for everyone.

In collaboration with primary schools, we embark on this journey of discovery, growth, and achievement. Events will be communicated to you via your child's primary school.

If you come from a non-government primary school, please contact our office who will put you in touch with the appropriate person.
